6 Do’s & Don’ts for Bachelor Parties via the man registry

We’ve all seen The Hangover, the hilarious movie about 4 guys and their crazy trip to Vegas. Today I thought we might take a bit of a break from the usual and talk about the grooms!

Most guys end up having a bachelor party. I’ve heard tons of stories about that one crazy night that boys will be boys. Our friends over at the Man Registry tackle this very topic and give you the Six Do’s & Don’ts for Throwing the Best Bachelor Party.

A word to the wise, you don’t have to recreate the Hangover to make this night one that the groom will never forget. Here are 6 small things to help make sure its a memorable night for the groom.

1. Don’t let the groom pay

2. Do something different.

3. Don’t let yourself get tired

4. Do some advance planning

5. Don’t let the groom do anything he’ll regret

6. Do remember to have fun

Wedding Registry Gifts

So, I’ve started redoing our kitchen. The reason I tell you is that most of the kitchen stuff we have was given to us from our wedding gift registry. So, of course I felt it only fitting this week to talk wedding gifts!

I’m all about registering at a few different places, after all, how can you find everything you need in one store! Here are a few must have items that need to make your registry gift list.

Wine Glasses

I love these wine glasses from Williams-Sonoma. If your into entertaining these are a must have. Make sure you get a few different styles since different wines require different glasses. Get at least 8 because you want to make sure you will have enough for that upcoming dinner party.

Food Storage Containers

I know it may sound silly to put food storage containers on the list, but they are a must have. You won’t feel pressured to hide everything that is normally on your counter when guests come over because these containers match. Most of all they keep everything fresh! I love these containers from Crate & Barrel.

Baking Pans & Casserole Dishes

Okay. If you aren’t a huge baker, or a wizz in the kitchen, you don’t have to put these on the list. But aren’t they the cutest! They are always good to have around just in case you have a party at your house and people use your kitchen to cook. You can find these at Crate & Barrel.

Dinnerware

For me the jury is still out on whether or not to replace the dinnerware I received as gifts. I love them, but I didn’t ask for enough. We are big entertainers and when we have people come over we have mismatched dinnerware. So make sure you ask for at least 8 if you like entertaining. You can check these out at Crate & Barrel.

Cookware

By far my favorite thing to shop for right now! Whatever you prefer make sure you ask for something that will last a few years. We invested in good cookware from the beginning and our cookware is still going strong, although I’m really digging the Giada De Laurentiis Cookware at Target. To be honest I can’t wait to get them. :)

Happy Planning!

Real Wedding: Lori & Kevin

What a great way to start off the week. Another beautiful wedding by Colorado wedding photographer Frances Marron. This time its on the beaches of the Four Seasons Punta Mita Resort in Mexico. Lori and Kevin brought their close friends and family along for a week full of relaxation and fun before their beautiful wedding.

Before guests headed to an all white reception they had a pink and red ocean view for cocktail hour.

Talk about personal touches. The groom, Kevin, caught his own fish to serve at the wedding.

I love the all white color palette for the reception.

Thanks to Frances Photography for sending along this beautiful destination wedding. You can view more of her work by visiting her website and blog.

Crazy About Pinwheels!

Pinwheels aren’t just for kids anymore. I love how we’re seeing pinwheels incorporated into every aspect of weddings and engagements now. When I came across the above photo by Cheyenne Schultz I knew I had to do a post on pinwheels. Instead of balloons this couple used pinwheels to make their engagement session fun.

The Cupcake Chronicles showed how pinwheels can also be used as escort cards for your wedding. Isn’t this the cutest idea!

This esty find gave pinwheels an updated makeover. Their fancy and all grown up with lace, elegant paper, and vintage buttons.

Pinwheels can also be a great alternative to flower bouquets, boutonnieres, or cupcake toppers

These pinwheels by rule42 on etsy can be custom made just for you!

Crazy about Delysia Chocolatier

Today is all about Chocolate! If you are looking for some serious chocolate ideas Delysia Chocolatier is worth looking at.

Nicole Patel launched the company roughly a year ago leaving behind her career as a n engineer. While making truffles as holiday gifts for friends and family, her relatives discovered her talent for blending flavors. Favorites include gingerbread, lavender, and wine.  Of course her family encouraged her to start a new business venture, and that is when Delysia Chocolatier was born.

They have more than 60 flavors for truffles, making them perfect for wedding favors or as a chocolate appetizer at your wedding.

They also have chocolate menus. Hello, hello! This is a great idea for pink, and  brown weddings!

Looking for a chocolate topper for your cake? They have the most divine  chocolate bride and groom.

Delysia Chocolatier has also partnered with Becker Vineyards, Neiman Marcus, and Salt Lick Barbecue Restaurant. As well as a new partnership with Snowy Peak Winery in Estes Park, Colorado.

I’m loving these wine truffles. For Snowy Peaks Syrah Reserve 2008 they created a truffle with 60% bittersweet chocolate with bits of dried cherries to compliment the cherry aroma of the wine.

For more information make sure you can check Delysia Chocolatier’s website.

Happy Thursday! :)
