Postponed Weddings: How To Celebrate Your Original Wedding Date

As the Coronavirus pandemic has meant that many people have had to cancel their weddings unless they have them with barely any guests or do them online, it has meant that this year there are lots of brides and grooms-to-be left with longer to wait until their big day. However, while most weddings are booked well in advance, this has left a hole in many people’s calendars, of what was once set to be the biggest day of their lives may now just be another day in lockdown. So if you were supposed to be getting married this year and have had to postpone your wedding, it would be nice to acknowledge your original wedding date and still celebrate in some way or another. Here are a few ideas so that you can still make it a special day.

Treat Each Other To A Wedding Gift

You might as well have a present if you can’t have a wedding day and as you were probably thinking about buying your other half a gift for your big day anyway, why not agree to make this day a special occasion and get each other a little something to open in the morning.

Get Dressed Up

There’s not much of a reason to get dressed up at the minute, so why not make this a reason. Even if you feel stupid just staying in the house, getting dressed up in your best clothes, and getting ready as if you were going out will make you feel better instantly, and it will make you feel your best and most beautiful.

Wear White

Just acknowledge the day by wearing white. It could even be a pair of nice white pajamas or a nice white summer dress. You should have been wearing a big white dress today, so it’s important that you wear something you like.

Have a date night/day

You were supposed to be enjoying the best catering today, so make it a special day with a favorite meal, perhaps something fancy or an expensive takeaway. Or go for a special picnic. Do something romantic, and don’t let the day pass you by.

Bake A Cake

It doesn’t have to be a wedding cake, just any cake that you love and then you can your partner can cut it together and then enjoy eating it together too.

Open Your Wedding Wine

If you have been stocking up on wine and fizz for your big day, you now have a bit more time to replenish your stock, so why not pop that cork and enjoy yourself today.

Have A Gift List Shopping Spree

Do you have a wedding gift list? If not, then now is a great time to do it, and if there’s something you wanted but you just can’t wait for, then treat yourself now instead, you deserve it.

Do Some Wedding Prep

While you have the time, you may as well use it to get cracking on as much wedding prep as you can. It might seem early to be table planning, but you could get a head start on it and update it closer to the time, or you could start creating your playlist of music? Some things will have to wait, but if you get a chunk of stuff done now, you’ll thank yourself later.
