Wedding season is here and it’s a great time to start thinking about what you will do with all those wedding photos! There are a lot of album companies out there that cater to the DIY bride who is looking to make something beautiful to preserve those memories, but our go-to album company is Blurb!

They have been around for a really long time so they know exactly what consumers are looking for. They a variety of sizes, templates for layout, paper and now lay flat books. We recently had the opportunity recently to check out and create an album with Blurb and we have to say it was really easy and took about 20 minutes!

There are two options for making albums through Blurb. You can either use their online book maker called Bookify or download their album program called Bookwright.

Bookify is great for people who just want a simple book within minutes and don’t want to download anything. The program can place the photos for you or you can pick from simple preset templates, fonts, and colors to have a little bit more design on your pages. The only problem we ran into was our photos were sized too big and the upload was going to take several hours. Since we didn’t want to wait several hours for our photos to upload we thought it was a great time to try out Bookwright.

BookWright just takes just a few minutes to download and install on your computer. This program is perfect for the savvy bride who wants to go in change fonts, tweak placement, and adjust layouts. You don’t need to resize photos before using this program and it takes a few minutes to figure out how to use the program. Once we had it figured out we had an album made in 20 minutes! We really liked how easy it was to navigate as well as the warning signs and lines to make sure we were not off printing page. The program walks you through each step to make sure your book is perfect before it goes to the printer.

Using Blurb also got us thinking about all those recipes we’ve blogged about over the years. You can really design and sell your photo book, magazines, and ebooks through Blurb or get them printed to sell on your own. How cool is that!

We love the three cover options, 5 paper options, and 5 book sizes because it makes it really easy to design and make gifts for your loved ones. We’ve been using Blurb for years and every time we go back and make a book and get it in the mail it’s worth every penny! We also love the date estimate for shipping because it is right on. Get started now making the perfect lay flat or coffee table book and get those photos off your computer! You’ll thank us later… Happy creating! 🙂
