Flower crowns are so dreamy and an expression of yourself. If you are considering or planning on having a flower crown for your wedding then think aobut making it yourself! Flower crowns are so personal and the perfect way to express your style and creativity.

A floral crown can easily complement whimsical, boho brides, modern and vintage brides. After all, there is no better headpiece that will match your perfectly dreamy beach waves or fishtail braid as well as a floral crown. Its beauty transcends the four seasons, whether adorned with spring’s peonies, or sprigs of winter’s mistletoe. It’s also a great option for crafty and savvy brides who can gather their wire and flowers to create a romantic floral crown at a fraction of the price.

Flowers to think about: blushing bride protea, a favorite flower amongst brides; its uniqueness always makes an arrangement pop. Different kinds of foliage, like leaves and berries, can be used for greenery. Jasmine is perfect for floral wedding crowns! The small flowers are so delicate but its vine is very sturdy and unbreakable when wrapped around the crown base.

You can always ask your florist to add a crown to your floral package, with the flowers already used throughout the rest of your wedding. However, if you prefer, you can just as easily create your own floral crown, using the step-by-step instructions below.

What you need:

  • Floral wire
  • Pliers or wire cutters
  • Greenery (use vines of jasmine to create a strong base)
  • Flowers of your choice
  • Floral tape (optional)

Directions:

  1. Measure your head, using the floral wire, by creating a circular shape around your head, adjusting the size to your liking (if you wish, you can tape the ends to hold it together)
  2. Now, take the greenery and begin wrapping it around the floral wire and use the floral tape to secure it in place if need be.
  3. Once the floral wire has been wrapped with greenery, you can begin to add flowers wherever you wish, using the floral tape to secure them to the crown. Note: Floral tape is not eco-friendly, and needs to be thrown away after use.
  4. You can also add ribbon in the back if you want it to match your bouquet.
  5. Using these simple step-by-step instructions you can create your own floral wedding crown in any color palette or style. Skip the veil and let nature accent your perfect wedding day look.
