Gluten-Free Black Forest Cupcakes

We’ve making Valentine’s Day just a little sweeter for you this week! We came across a very simple and easy gluten-free black forest cupcake recipe we had to share because everyone deserves to indulge in a little dessert sometimes.

This dessert is so simple to make ahead for any occasion, including your wedding dessert table! The best part is everyone will be so impressed with the yummy surprise in the middle. You can also easily make this recipe non-gluten free just make sure you pick up a box of regular cake mix.

Black Forest Stuffed Cupcakes

Recipe makes 24 cupcakes

Ingredients:

  • 1 package gluten-free chocolate cake mix
  • 1 package brick cream cheese, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 (19 oz) can gluten-free cherry pie filling
  • 1 can ready whip (real whip cream)

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare cake batter as directed on package, set aside. Mix cream cheese, egg and sugar until well blended.
  2. Remove 3/4 cup of the cherry pie filling for garnish, set aside. Spoon 2 tablespoons cake batter into each of the 24 paper-lined muffin cups. Top each with 1 tablespoon of cream cheese mixture and the remaining cherry pie filling. Cover evenly with remaining cake batter.
  3. Bake 20 to 25 minutes of until toothpick interested in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes; remove from pan to wire racks. Cool Completely. Top with whipped cream and reserved cherry pie filling just before serving.
