Your wedding day is all about you and your spouse, right? Unfortunately, even though the day is centered on you, there are a lot of other people that you need to please on your wedding day. A wedding is a time for family and friends to come together to celebrate, and you want to ensure that everyone is able to do just that.

There are a lot of reasons that guests may be unhappy at your wedding. Some of them are out of your control, like bad weather, but there are a lot of things that you can control. Here are some of the most common reason why your wedding guests are unhappy and how you can fix or prevent them.

Your wedding party is unhappy/ not having fun

Your wedding party sets the tone for the rest of your guests at your wedding, especially during the reception. If tensions are running high between you and your wedding party before the wedding day, chances are they will be less enthusiastic to help you walk down the aisle. Instead, listen to your wedding party and their concerns, many guests may have the same issues. Also, make them feel appreciated with funny groomsmen gifts like a custom dartboard and thoughtful bridesmaid gifts like personalized necklaces.

It is expensive to attend and enjoy your wedding

This is most common for people who choose to have destination weddings. Of course, you have been saving and preparing for this occasion for months, but your guests may not be able to do the same. They will constantly be worrying about money and will not be able to enjoy your party. You can ease the financial burden by giving guests extra perks, like a discounted hotel rate, a shuttle to and from the hotel and wedding venues, and a free bar.

There isn’t enough food or enough choices for food

Food is usually the thing that your guests look forward to the most at your wedding. Everyone has different tastes and requirements, so it impossible to find a meal that will completely please everyone, but you can do your best to ensure that everyone will find something that they can enjoy. Provide a few options, including vegetarian, vegan and items that cater to dietary restrictions, like gluten free or dairy free options. Also, always plan to have extra food, you never want to run out!

You only asked for cash as a gift

Of course, especially after paying for a wedding, every couple could use some extra money. Unfortunately, most people find it offensive or rude when a couple asks for only money as a wedding gift. Instead, spend a day registering for gifts at one of your favorite stores. You and your fiancé will have fun picking out things that you need or wouldn’t buy yourself for whatever reason.

You did not spend enough time with them

This is a tough issue, especially if you have a big wedding, because there are some many people to see and you can only spend so much time with each one individually. Try to narrow down your guest list as much as possible to avoid overcrowding and spend as much time as possible with your guests at the reception.
