Cherry Trifle Dessert Recipe

One of the most popular emails that I get is, do you have the recipe for the cherry shot glass dessert? Well after some serious research I was able to find the perfect cherry trifle dessert!

This recipe is simple and easy and sure to be a hit for all of you who are busy planning your shot glass desserts for your upcoming wedding! Thanks to everyone who emailed looking for this recipe and please let me know how they turn out! šŸ™‚

Cherry Trifle Dessert

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Marsala Wine
  • 1/2 cup Slightly cooled strong espresso coffee
  • 2 tablespoons Super fine granulated sugar
  • 50g Grated good-quality dark chocolate
  • 1/2 cup ThickĀ vanilla custard
  • 4 pieces Mini jam sponge rolls
  • 1 can of 425g Cherries

Directions

  1. Mix sugar, coffee, and marsala together in a bowl and stir until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Take your shot glasses and put the sponge slices each in per glass (cut to fit). Reserve one tablespoon of coffee mixture in a small cup and drizzle the rest over the slices of sponge.
  3. Take chocolate and all the custard and cherries for topping. After that, use the reserved coffee mixture for drizzling.
  4. Take the remaining chocolate and sprinkle over the dessert and then serve.

You only need five minutes to prepare this dessert. If you do not find marsala, which is available in liquor stores, you can use any other liquor available at your hand. For example, this dessert can also be made by using brandy, Tia Maria liqueur, dry sherry, and Kahlua liqueur instead of marsala.
