Indian Lime Soda via GQ

What should you be drinking this summer according to GQ magazine? Its easy, Indian Lime Soda. Fresh soda is the go to drink in India and I’m thinking this might be the perfect signature drink for the groom at his wedding!

This cocktail dresses up a simple drink (lime soda) and makes an impression. The celery salt and cumin add that extra little heat to make the lime soda less sweet. There’s two ways to drink it either with a salted rim (cumin & celery salt) or with the celery salt and cumin mixed in.

Its your choice either way we know you’ll love this summer cocktail! 🙂

  • Juice of 1 lime, divided
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 2 tablespoon celery salt
  • 1 1/2 oz. gin
  • 1/2 oz. simple syrup
  • Soda water or seltzer
  • Slice of lime

Dip the rim of your glass in a plate containing 1/2 the lime juice. Combine the cumin and celery salt on a plate and dab the rim of the glass onto the salt mixture so outer rim of the glass is covered.

Fill the glass with ice, then add the gin, remaining lime juice, and simple syrup. Top off with soda water.

Sprinkle with a pinch of the cumin salt mixture. Garnish with a lime slice.
