Would You Propose To Your Boyfriend?

With Valentines Day right around the corner I have to ask- would you propose to your boyfriend? In Amy Adams new film Leap Year, it follows one woman’s journey to Ireland to propose to her boyfriend on leap year day. I had no idea that this was a real Irish tradition. Hundreds of years ago the English law considered February 29 not a legal day. So… if it had no legal status, normal traditions did not matter. Women started proposing for the simple fact they were afraid to get left behind.

Amy Adams character decided to take matters into her own hands and follow this Irish Tradition. Obviously, I can’t tell you what happens, but I can raise the question of how would you propose?

On Wednesday, Glamour.com asked the very same question. This article caught my eye because most women couldn’t do it. Could you imagine yourself proposing? I knew that one day someone would propose to me, but I never really thought about how, or when. I never thought about what I would say if I was the one proposing.

Would you do it over burgers and beers? Would you do it at the Superbowl? Would you take him to play his favorite sport and do it then? Could you even do it at all? I love the idea of taking things into your own hands and making it special for him. Wouldn’t it be a great story to tell your kids and grandchildren one day? It just might.
