Unfortunately, getting married in the open doesn’t mean you can get married anywhere. You’ll need approval from the owner of the land or the local council. So, you shouldn’t just pick a place and start setting everything up. You’ll still need to enquire months in advance and in most cases a booking will still be required. In this way, an outdoor wedding is the same as any other ceremony. You still need to jump through the same hoops to get the venue of your dreams. Our personal choice for a location is a tropical beach. Or, perhaps a mountain side overlooking the ocean waves lapping onto a beach in Greece. Now, wouldn’t that be unforgettable?

Although we love the idea of having your whole wedding out in the open, you have to plan for the worse. No matter where you get married, there’s a chance that the weather could turn. If that happens, you don’t want to look like a drowned rat saying I do. That’s why you should rent a canopy. You’ll still get a fantastic unique environment for your wedding and some protection from the elements. At the very least we suggest you have some sort of shelter for guests at the reception.

Banquet chairs and be found and purchased at low prices online, giving you a complete place for your guests to sit. If you want our recommendation, we suggest that you look for waterproof furniture. This will ensure that even if it does start to rain down from the heavens, you get your deposit back.

Finally, for the bride, the most important part of the wedding is always going to be the dress. If you’re getting married outdoors, you’ll have another factor to consider. You need to think about whether you have chosen the right dress for the season. For instance, if you’re getting married in the summer, you can wear a revealing, thin dress. In the winter months, you might want to opt for something a little warmer!
