What to Wear to a Beach Wedding

When you’ve been dreaming of having the perfect beach wedding, you want everything to be perfect. This would include planning your wedding attire well ahead of time so that nothing goes wrong. For instance, some brides make the mistake of wearing big dresses and heels for a beach wedding. This is a big no-no as you might be unable to move freely. Here are some tips on choosing the perfect attire for a beach wedding.

Tips On Bridal Wear

Lightweight dresses are perfect for moving freely during your beach wedding. In terms of design, however, you’ll need to first think about your body type. This is highly important as you need to choose something that flatters your body. Luckily, women with hourglass figures have the luxury to pick out any design as their bodies can look great in anything. What about a divine mermaid dress or a tight-fitting skirt?

Pear-shaped women can wear halter necks and off-shoulder dresses that will draw attention towards the upper body. An elaborate detailing on the bodice can be perfect for them. Some types of dresses may not be too flattering for this body type. So avoid pleats and dresses with cinched waists. If you have a full figure or a V-shaped body, empire waistlines and deep V-necks balance out different parts of your body. However, puffed sleeves and tight-fitting skirts may do the exact opposite.

Tips On Groom’s Wear

Most grooms love beach weddings as they don’t have to dress up too much and instead, rock a casual look. A crisp tailored shirt will look great with linen pants and boat shoes or deck shoes. Play around with this look to express your personal style. Wearing the shirt with the collar open and sleeves rolled up can create a casual vibe. For a more classic look, a dark summer blazer can create a sophisticated yet laid-back look.

Instead of the linen pants, you could go for a pair of well-tailored shorts for a chic summer look. Pinstripe shorts with white derby shoes make for a quirky and fun combination. Complete this look with a funky bowtie and a beach-inspired boutonniere. Think about palm trees, seashells, and starfish as the boutonniere or cufflinks. No matter how you play around with your look, make sure you stick to the beach theme. You can check out the Beach Wedding infographic for more style tips and ideas for your beach wedding.
