What To Do If Your Wedding Is Making You Ill

Your wedding date is fast approaching. Your boss is fast approaching firing you because you aren’t focussing on your work. And your husband to be is fast losing his hair having to take your phone calls at all hours as you try to agree the details of the day. Flowers, catering, table decorations, dresses, lingerie! A huge list still sits in front of you of what needs doing, and you’re starting to feel like you can’t cope.

Planning your wedding is one of the most stressful things you can do. When we were little girls, and we were putting together our little wedding scrapbooks of dresses and jewellery and flowers, it all seemed like such fun. But when you have to do it for real, and a real fiance is involved, suddenly there is no pleasure in it anymore. For some, it makes us feel like tears and tantrums!

Mom and Mom-in-law-to-be are probably telling you take a breath and offering help, but actually that makes us feel so much worse. It is our day, and we don’t want to relinquish control to other people who just don’t understand our tastes and requirements. But you may well need to get some help soon before all the stress of planning the big day makes you ill.

If you are feeling the pressure of getting married, it is often the stress of planning the perfect day that is the problem. Some people believe they feel this bad because the relationship between the bride and the groom isn’t meant to be. The truth is many of us underestimate just how much it takes to plan the perfect wedding ceremony and reception. It really isn’t a job for just one person who also has to juggle their career at the same time.

If you are feeling unhappy as you organise your big day, it may be time to sit back from it a little. Look up Wedding Planners Charlotte NC or wherever you may be to see if you can find someone to help you prepare. Some wedding planners will take one or two things off your hands to give you a little respite. Alternatively, you can hand over everything in your wedding scrapbook and let them get on with it. They do their job all day every day and have no other distractions or responsibilities. Having a wedding planner on your side can give you time and space to regroup before your big day.

Let’s face it, if we weren’t running here, there and everywhere trying to coordinate musicians, linen companies and florists, we would be having a glorious pamper session or bridal spa! So go! Have that! This is your big day after all, so take the time away from it so you really can enjoy it. If all you are doing is trying to make it happen the way you want, you simply cannot enjoy. Time to relax, young lady! Wear the pleasure of your wedding on your face, and not the stress of preparing your wedding…
