Guest Post: Things To Keep In Mind While Shopping For Women Dresses

Even the best shoppers in women tend to halt if they come across a title as above. It may be to cross check facts or to see if the writer knows anything at all or knows more than what the particular viewer does so that the reader can make a better choice during the next shopping spree. Well, whichever category of woman (or a man looking to buy some dresses for the special woman) you belong to, here are some suggestions to consider while shopping for women dresses.

1) ‘See Through’ The Material

Never go by the looks of a particular dress. The most important factor you need to look into while shopping is to check the quality of the material and how good or revealing it would be on a woman. Unless your intentions are otherwise, you may not want to buy a dress made of a material so thin that you would look the same without wearing it.

However, here is something for those who love thin material. Well, if that is what you are after, you may want to choose the material that has quality and can withstand its frequent sessions in the washing machine. In many cases, dresses made of thinner materials are more expensive. You sure would not want your money to go down the drain.

2) Care For Comfort

Some dresses are designed only with fashion in mind; so it seems when you try wearing them in the trial room. The dress may look absolutely stunning, only when it is not on you. On wearing, you might find the neckline deep or too tight that you may find it difficult to pull it over your face. Zips at the back could be scary too; you may never know what happens behind you unless you feel some fresh air touching the exposed parts of your back thanks to the zip’s under performance. Always ensure that you buy a dress you would be comfortable wearing.

Well, if you are among those that dream of nothing but fashion, you can have your zips behind your shirts, if they conform to the fashion norms. Just ensure you have someone along to help, just in case.

3) Consult The Mirror

While buying a dress, it would be best not to be flattered by what the storekeeper says. The storekeeper is not concerned about your looks but only about your wallet. Hence, if you are unsure about a particular style of dress, try it on and check yourself in the mirror for an unbiased opinion. If the style makes you look awkward, do not go for it even if it is made by the best designer on earth. After all, the designer did not have you in mind while designing the dress. You are spending some hard earned money on your dress and hence you need to like it and feel comfortable every time you wear it. If you are short, you may not want to wear a dress that may make you look shorter still. Go for styles that look great on you rather than those that look great on wardrobes. When you buy dresses online, you escape the risk of the sales talk of the storekeeper but you may not able to try it before hand. In such cases, think twice before you hit the button or you may end up looking for clauses in the return policy of the online store.

4) Check And Compare The Rates

Believe me, there is absolutely nothing wrong in checking the price tag. It is your money and you want to spend it the right way. For those of you who take pride in not looking at the price tag though deep inside the heart you desperately want to, online store is the right place to land. Check the price and do some comparative study. You may be able to get the same stuff for a better bargain. While this suggestion may sound like the one that is applicable for both men and women, it is generally women who tend to ignore the price tag (intentionally or otherwise).

As far as the colors of the dresses are concerned, you are absolutely free to choose what you love regardless of the skin tone. It all depends on how well you dress up and how confident you are. After all, beauty is not skin deep, if I can have my say.

Author Bio Emily Johnson is not a designer by profession but is a close follower of trends and whatever that is introduced in the name of fashion. Her suggestions may sound rather strange to those who believe in buying clothes to accentuate their looks. However, for those who believe in her perception of beauty and fashion, she makes an interesting and insightful study.
