Must Steal Ideas from the Royal Wedding!

Its been almost a week since the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were married and we’re still basking in envy of the Royal Wedding. Here are some easy ideas to steal from the wedding of the year.

The All-Day Party

When Catherine stepped out in her second dress we all thought it was just as beautiful as the first. William and Catherine stepped away from tradition and made their wedding an all day affair. Not only is it the perfect excuse to a have second dress is also a great way to entertain your friends and family.

An early ceremony is key to this idea followed by breakfast/brunch then a full dinner reception with dancing to follow.

The Planned Exit

Not all of us will be able to have a horse drawn carriage, so a great alternative is sparklers with your friends and family gathered around. Its a great photo op, so make sure you plan the perfect send off.

Long Sleeve Wedding Dresses

Its not the first time we’ve seen a long sleeve wedding dress, but Catherine’s might be the one dress that will bring back this classic trend.

With copycats already being made I can’t wait to see if the number one neckline (strapless) will have a new competitor with U.S. brides.

All-White Flowers

Westminster Abby was transformed into a beautiful garden and Catherine’s bouquet complimented it well. With small touches of green her understated bouquet had people talking. White photographs well and you can also add different shades of white or small splashes of color.

Post Wedding Brunch

You might remember my post on Postwedding Brunch 101 back in September. Its the perfect way to say thank you and goodbye to your wedding guests before you head off to your honeymoon.

Something Blue

Catherine chose to have a small blue ribbon sewn to the inside of her dress. From blue shoes to blue garters we’ve seen it all and you can be traditional or give it a little twist.

Wedding Websites

I’m a big fan of keeping your guests in the loop about what’s going on with your big day. William and Catherine did just that with their official wedding website. Companies like eWedding.com, www.GoDaddy.com, The Knot Wedding Shop, and Wedding Paper Divas have great options for you to build and create your own wedding website.

Happy Planning! 🙂
