Engagement Party Foods

If your looking for some easy appetizers to serve at your upcoming engagement party here are a few ideas that should be on the menu and will get you thinking outside the box!

Sushi

For most people sushi will always be a huge hit. If you want to give your guests a few options also consider serving Fruit Sushi as well. Wondering how to make it? Check out this video and recipe at G Living on how to make a healthy fruit sushi.

Stuffed Mushrooms

There are a bunch of different ways to cook stuffed mushrooms, so give your guests something special like these stuffed goat cheese and herb mushrooms.

Cheese Platters

It’s quick and simple and a must at any party.

Devils on Horseback (or Cream Cheese Filled Dates)

Makes 24 (adapted by Martha Stewart Recipes)

  • 24 large dates, pitted
  • 12 slices bacon, halved crosswise
  • 1/3 cup crumbled Stilton cheese (you can also use cream cheese)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place 24 toothpicks in a small bowl filled with water; let soak 15 minutes. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and fit with a wire rack; set aside.

Halve dates lengthwise being careful not to cut all the way through. Place a small amount of cheese in the center of each date. Wrap a piece of bacon around each date. Secure bacon with a toothpick.

Place dates on prepared baking sheet. Bake until bacon is cooked through, 20 to 25 minutes.

Spinach Dip

Served with pita chips, vegetables, or bread this dish can be a hit.

Chex Mix

There are several different recipes for chex mix. You can find several different recipes at Betty Crocker.

Chicken Wings

I know what your thinking… “This isn’t Superbowl Sunday!” Don’t make them traditional buffalo chicken wings. Leave the bleu cheese and ranch in the fridge and serve sweet and sour wings. The guys will love it! 🙂

Make sure you have fun with your menu and look for recipes that will be easy to make. If your having a theme to your engagement party make sure the food compliments your theme and goes together.

Happy Thursday! 🙂
