Your wedding day, so they say, is one of the most important days of your life. If you are like most ladies, you have been dreaming about it for years. You have sent out the invites, booked the venue and bought the dress. The only trick now is to fit into the dress and look great for all your friends and family, the millions of photographs, your husband to be and of course, for yourself.

It all sound a little easier said than done. Let me share with you 5 sure fire ways to get yourself fit for your wedding dress. Just do not leave it too late.

  1. Exercise

Ok, you knew I was going to start with that. Most of us hate exercise but it does not have to be that way. Make it interesting, make it fun but most importantly do it. Remember your end goal and that should help to motivate you. If you really hate hitting the pavements for a run or slogging it out for an hour at the gym, try something different. Aim to do something for about 30 to 40 minutes at least 4 times a week. Do not forget to rest for a day or two in-between, you don’t want to kill yourself. Any decent aerobic exercise that gets you going will boost your metabolism. Remember, exercise will not only help you keep the weight down, it will also firm you up and give your skin a healthy, radiant glow.

For exciting exercise ideas, have a look at sites such as Indoor Ellipticals.

Enlist the help of friends to keep you motivated and join a few classes or exercise groups, take the dogs for a brisk walk or ride a bicycle to work. They key is to vary your routine and make it fun and entertaining.

  1. Drink Water

It is a wonder more people do not get the amazing benefits of drinking water. Carry a bottle with you at all times and sip from it regularly. This will keep you from over indulging at meal times and reduce snacking between meals. Water also helps to flush out the toxins from your system.

Ideally, you want to aim for about eight glasses a day, more if you exercise a lot.

  1. Reduce Alcohol

The fastest way to consume empty calories and put on extra weight is alcohol. They will add up quickly too. Alcohol also loosens your inhibitions which might lead to a midnight pizza binge or worse. Often one wakes up hungry after a few drinks the night before and this just adds to the problem. Your body also uses a lot of energy to rid itself of the toxins in booze which means it has less time to process other fats from the body and it reduces vitamin and mineral uptake.

  1. Have Smaller Portions

An easy way to eat less is simply to have smaller servings. Dish up a smaller portion than normal, eat slowly and only go back for more if you are still hungry. If you dish up a large serving it is too easy to finish it. A clever trick is to use a slightly smaller plate than usual, it will make the meal look bigger. It sounds simple but trust me, it works.

To make it easier, have high protein, low fat snacks in between meals and don’t forget to keep sipping that water.

  1. Get Your Fill on Fruit and Vegetables

The best thing you can eat is lots of fruit and vegetables. Experiment and try something new or new ways of preparing them to keep it interesting. Juicing your fruit and vegetables is also a great way to get your daily amount. There are literally thousands of exciting recipes on the internet. It is quick and easy, good for you and very refreshing. Carry around some fresh fruit as a healthy snack between meals.

Stick to those 5 tips and you will fit into your dress with easy, looking happy, fit and healthy. Enjoy your special day.
