Watermelon-and-Lemon-Juice

Every once in a while its good to flush out the body and get rid of toxins. It is also great to do right before your wedding so you are feeling light, refreshed and ready to walk down that aisle.

Using natural foods and vegetables as a detox drink is an easy way to compliment your already existing diet and a great way to get rid of sugary drinks! I love this Watermelon, Mint and Lemon detox drink recipe because you can play around with flavors add or take out certain fruits or vegetables as well as figure out how much flavor you want, i.e. how long you want the drink to marinate in water. Try a detox drink with lime or cucumber if you don’t like lemon or watermelon because they all give you the same benefits to flushing out your system.

You Will Need:

  • 1 to 2 liters of water, depending on how strong you want the detox drink to taste
  • Part of 1 watermelon or 1 cucumber
  • 1 or 2 lemons or limes
  • 10-13 fresh mint leaves
  • Ice cubes

Directions:

Slice up a good amount of watermelon into cubes, and put them into a mason jar or pitcher. Cut 1 juicy lemon into wedges and toss in with the watermelon. Add a handful of fresh mint leaves and add in 2 liters of cool water, filling the jar all the way to the top. Let sit overnight in the fridge and let all the flavors steep and infuse the water. When you drink it, put in a generous helping of ice cubes and enjoy daily.
