Revisited: The Updo Trend

Back in 2010 we did a post about the classic go-to trend and how it was making comeback on the bridal runways. Updos haven’t gone anywhere and we’re revisiting some of the trends we blogged about earlier and showing you some of the trendiest spring looks on celebrities right now.

This soft elegant look was created for the Angel Sanchez show. If you have naturally curly hair you can also get this look by blow-drying your hair straight first and then putting it up.

The look below was created for the Melissa Sweet collection. We said it was fun, flirty and perfect for the off-beat bride.

From high-buns to high-ponies celebs are showing us that you don’t have to be an off-beat bride to show off this look. Its perfect for spring, red carpet and your wedding!

We said another way to get that classic look in a non-traditional way is to put it on the side. Melissa Sweet designer, Lia McNairy, wanted a fresh and clean look for the models when they walked the runway back in 2010.

Now, we are seeing stars like Kate Mara rockin’ this look everyday! Wondering how to get her look?

Her low, off-center knot can be achieved with hairpins and hair spray. Add serum before styling to keep frizz at bay, and be sure to pull front strands out softly to keep the look elegant instead of gym-worthy.

If you want to modernize Aubrey Hepburn’s look from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, you can do so by re-creating Douglas Hannant runway look from 2010.

Two other looks I LOVE for spring and weddings is Emma Watson’s slicked back pixie and Dianna Agron’s twisted braids, which I think is perfect for a summer wedding.

TGIF! 🙂
