For so many couples getting married, the best part of the wedding prep is about sampling the wedding food. And if you are starting to put plans together for the feast part of the function, you’ve got to get the most out of it. The right food is going to impact your guests and the right quantities of food will make sure they are satisfied and ready for the evening’s events. Here are a few important things for you to ask yourself when it comes to finding the right wedding feast.

Are We Honoring Tradition or Going With the Crowd?

There are many crowd-pleasers at weddings you can go for, but many couples opt for things that are a nod to their traditions or nationality. For example, if your significant other has a distinct Mexican heritage, Mexican food should either be a part of the menu or comprise the entire menu. The great thing about this is that there are many Mexican food group catering options available to you.

The toughest thing to come to terms with is if you are honoring your ancestry or nationality but the guests are more conservative in their food choices. Ultimately, we shouldn’t aim to please that long-lost auntie who complains about the food, but this is where a wedding breakfast can straddle the balance, so the guests can pick and choose the types of food for their stomachs and palates.

Do We Need Late-Night Food As Well As the Main Meal?

To answer this question, you’ve got to look at the events of the day. If you may have a late wedding meal but your ceremony starts at 10 in the morning, you’re going to have ravenous guests by the afternoon. You’ve got to make sure that everybody is satisfied throughout the day. Offering finger foods when everyone turns up to the wedding party can make things easier on the stomach, but you’ve also got to think about the late-night food as well.

After the party, people are going to need to line their stomachs. An evening buffet can make a big difference here. The trick is to make it simple. There will be guests who, again, will not take kindly to certain types of food. But when you start to think that the vast majority of the guests are either going to be exhausted from a long day or, very simply, inebriated, party food is definitely the way to go! You could think about hog roasts or opt for a simple cheese board. Both are incredibly hearty and filling.

What About Vegan Options?

The toughest thing to come to terms with is when you are opting for foods but there is one person on the guest list with dietary requirements.

There are plenty of foods you should not serve your guests and this is why it is a good idea to find the right balance. You’ve got to do what you can to cater to everybody which means that everyone will be happy. Choosing the right food for you might be straightforward, but it is essential to bear in mind the entire wedding party.
