8 Ways to Include Chocolate at Your Winter Wedding

Everyone knows that winter weddings are magical and romantic. From the different winter flowers you can choose from to the incredible winter photos you can take to remember the occasion, winter weddings are amazing.

You’ve already decided that you’re going to hit up the online chocolate store to add something sweet to your wedding menu and wedding favor bags. Another item you should consider adding to your repast is hot chocolate. Not only will incorporating hot cocoa into your reception satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth, but it’s also nice to give everyone a hot drink to help them warm up on a cold day.

Whether it’s part of the beverage list or an integral dessert option, chocolate represents the essence of love.

In Shots

Hot chocolate has been around since the early 1500s, but it wasn’t used in weddings until much later on. If you want to warm up your guests at your wedding, while incorporating hot cocoa into the menu, try putting the cocoa in shot glasses. Add some whipped cream and a pretty straw to the mix and you have the perfect shot of warmth for your wedding guests.

Send it Home as Favors

There are very few people out there who don’t love hot cocoa, and that includes your wedding guests. Find some pretty little jars, fill them with cocoa mix, tie them with a bow, and put the date of your wedding on them. Your guests can reminisce about your wedding as they drink the cocoa and the jar can be saved as a keepsake as well.

Drip it Over Your Cake

Whether it’s made by a bakery or is homemade, the wedding cake is an integral part of a wedding. If you love chocolate, why not have a chocolate cake and drip chocolate ganache all over it? This is a double dose of chocolate and sweetness that you and your guests are sure to love.

In a Fountain

Who doesn’t love a chocolate fountain? Not only will it serve as a sweet treat for your guests, it can serve double-duty as an interactive entertainment feature as well. What’s not to love about a chocolate fountain?

Cups Featuring Your Wedding Logo

Another cute way to incorporate hot chocolate into your wedding is by purchasing some cups and having your wedding logo printed on them. You can drop a packet of hot chocolate into each cup and give them out to the guests as they get to the reception. It’s the perfect way to warm up the guests for the party ahead.

As a Hot Chocolate Bar

Instead of a chocolate fountain, why not set up a hot chocolate bar for your wedding guests? Since the wedding is in winter, set the bar up before the ceremony, so that guests can warm up with a mug of hot chocolate when they first arrive and throughout the day as well. Add an assortment of candy and other toppings and people can customize their own creations.

Drizzle It Over Bacon

If you want something savory and sweet, then set up a platter of bacon that has been drizzled with chocolate. These strips will be an instant hit during the cocktail portion of your wedding reception. Because, honestly, who doesn’t love bacon?

Create a Signature Cocktail

How about mugs of hot chocolate featuring a Nutella melt cocktail? You can serve virgin cocktails to the children, thenadd some hazelnut or even peppermint liquor for the adults. This will take your hot chocolate and your cocktail hour to the next level for sure.

These are just a few ways that you can include hot chocolate in your wedding ceremony and reception. Everyone loves hot cocoa, so why not warm up your winter wedding with some?
