Real Wedding: Shelley & John

Shelly and John chose her family home in Evergreen, Colorado for her yellow and red themed wedding. What a stunning backdrop it turned out to be.

They enlisted a superstar cast of vendors including Dylan List member Cloud 9 weddings & paper to bring their vision to life. Thank you to Frances with Frances Photography for sending over this wedding.

Shelly and John were married at the Holy Ghost church in Denver before heading up to her families home in Evergreen.

This is such a great idea. Each bridesmaid had their own bouquet to match their plum dresses. It made for a very beautiful and colorful pallet.

The cake was made by a family friend. Isn’t it fit for a princess with the castle cake topper?

What better way then to celebrate your first dance than with confetti.

Real Wedding: Amy & Kevin

Summer is coming to a close and it seems like it has flown by. I’ve been doing research on vacation spots which has also turned into honeymoon research for the blog. I’m not ready for summer to come to an end, so I find myself looking at beach resorts for vacations. One resort I’ve fallen in love with is AZUL beach hotel in Puerto Morelos, Mexico.

Here’s a little inspiration for the day from Frances Photography, Amy and Kevin’s Mexican destination wedding.

Real Wedding: Lori & Kevin

What a great way to start off the week. Another beautiful wedding by Colorado wedding photographer Frances Marron. This time its on the beaches of the Four Seasons Punta Mita Resort in Mexico. Lori and Kevin brought their close friends and family along for a week full of relaxation and fun before their beautiful wedding.

Before guests headed to an all white reception they had a pink and red ocean view for cocktail hour.

Talk about personal touches. The groom, Kevin, caught his own fish to serve at the wedding.

I love the all white color palette for the reception.

Thanks to Frances Photography for sending along this beautiful destination wedding. You can view more of her work by visiting her website and blog.

Real Wedding: Julie & Nate

Someone must have told Frances Marron of Frances Photography I’ve been dreaming of the beach. I love this wedding she sent over of Julie and Nate’s destination wedding in Negril, Jamaica at The Moon Dance Villas.

It’s the perfect beach wedding.

Vendor Spotlight: Cloud 9 Weddings & Paper

Company Name: cloud 9 Weddings & Papers (Dylan List member)

Name: Ann Marlin

Location: Denver, Colorado

Tell us a little about what you do.

cloud 9 Weddings & Papers is Denver’s premier wedding and stationary company.

How long have you been in business?

I joined Nancy Chase Weddings and Celebrations in 2002 and purchased the business in 2005.  At the same time I also purchased Pampered Papers and am so excited to announce cloud 9, the joining of my two favorite things; weddings and fine papers.

What inspired you to start your business/studio?

I have always had a passion for planning events and was fortunate enough to join the Nancy Chase Weddings and Celebrations team in 2002.  Working with Nancy and getting to know the industry only deepened my desire to make this a lifelong career and buy the business.

What is your favorite thing about your business/studio?

Getting to know a  couple and their history, family, traditions and translating their wedding dreams into reality and of course coupling that with stunning save the dates, invitations and accessories!

Was there a defining moment when you knew you picked the right career path?

I am lucky to be able to say that I look forward to going into work taking on the tasks and challenges ahead…I am excited about my job every day.  I work with wonderful brides, families, vendors and fabulous paper on a daily basis.

When you built your business what style would you say you built it around? (i.e. classic, modern, vintage)

I would say that we have a more classic style.  We definitely pull in vintage and modern elements throughout the details but overall we have a very elegant, romantic and classical feel to the business that bring in the couples relationship for a truly unique experience.

When working with people how do you help bring the vision for the event to life?

We take great pride in keeping each wedding and event unique.  We pull as much information from the bride and groom as possible – their favorite things, their style, their likes/dislikes and especially their vision for the day.  No two couples are alike and no two weddings should be alike.  We start with the bride and grooms priorities for the day, and focus on the details from there.

Where do you go for inspiration? (i.e. blogs, magazines)

We read all of the industry magazines including Martha Stewart Weddings, Grace Ormond, Real Simple Weddings and love to search blogs and wedding related websites.  Décor magazines and invitation/paper trends serve as great inspiration as well.
