D.C. Engagement Party by Otto Schulze

Your fiance has proposed and its time for the engagement party. Why not have your wedding photographer cover your engagement party?

Not only will it make for a great slide show at the wedding, but the decor can also carry over into your wedding. This Washington D.C. engagement party by Otto Schulze Photographers could easily use the black tie and shades of blue from the engagement party and incorporate into the wedding.

Tying decor and colors together from engagement parties and rehearsal dinners will make for an incredible wedding experience and will ensure that your guests will know what to expect.

Thank you

This week has been a whirlwind for me. I have received some of the kindest, sincere emails from fellow bloggers, brides, and wedding industry folks. I had a very fun post planned for today, but that will have to wait until next week. I wanted to take the time to thank everyone for all of their support and continued readership of Lucy Dylan Weddings.

If you aren’t following us on Facebook then you might have missed that we’ve hit record numbers this week. I never would have thought my little regional wedding blog would do so well. Thank you to everyone who has let me feature them. This year (so far) has been so much fun and I can’t wait to share every little thing about weddings I can find.

We have some great things in the pipeline, so until then enjoy your weekend! :)

Much Love,

Lucy Dylan

Crazy About Wedding Signs

As you know I love the small little details. Signs are one of those details that can give your wedding that extra touch. They are also a great little DIY project (more on that later ;) ).

Help your wedding guests find their way by having a sign pointing to the ceremony or reception.

They are also great for your portraits.

Don’t forget to incorporate them into the reception. You can also do a big wedding chalkboard for the seating chart or menu.

Signs don’t always have to be just for weddings. They would be perfect to incorporate into an engagement session.

Don’t forget to check out Etsy.com, you can always find great signs on there.

Happy Planning! :)

In case you missed it yesterday make sure you check out Carrie & Gergely’s Real Engagement!

Real Engagement: Carrie & Gergely

Have I told you lately how much I LOVE my job? I do. Really what better way to spend a day then looking at beautiful photography from all over the world. When I stumbled across Photobolic I fell in love. Their photography is beautiful I knew I had to instantly subscribe to their blog.

I love this engagement session of Carrie and Gergely. So simple, vintage, and all around beautiful.

Photobolic are from Calgary, Alberta Canada and you can check out more of their work by visiting their website and blog.

Happy Wednesday! :)

Real Colorado Wedding: Brie & Doug

When I stumbled across this Colorado Springs wedding by Audrey Hannah Photo I had to share it. I feel in love with it because Audrey said this wedding is going down in Audrey Hannah Photo history…. and well…. lets face it, she quotes my very favorite Bob Dylan in her bio!

From the moment Audrey walked through the door she felt like family and it shows. The photography is stellar! I always wonder what photographers will do when they shoot another creative professional’s wedding… and this wedding definitely doesn’t let you down.

You can check out more of Audrey Hannah Photo’s work by visiting her blog and website!

Ceremony- Shove Chapel

Reception- Fine Arts Center

Real South African Wedding: Elle & Marco

Marco and Elle describe their wedding day as “exhilarating, superbly organized and over in a heartbeat.”  They exchanged vows at the authentic Greek Orthodox Church in Woodstock and the reception followed at the beautiful Lagoon Beach Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa.

The whole day was a true reflection of everything Marco and Elle hold close to their hearts:  “family, friends, music and their love for the creative arts.” The décor can be described as “organic ikebana” style and combinations of wheatgrass, edible greenery and symbolic elements created an authentic look.
